What Law Is for Me Today?

God promised under the New Covenant to write His law upon our hearts so that we might do it. What law was He talking about? 1 Timothy 1.8 says the law is good if we use it lawfully. Is the law that we should follow simply a matter of listing out all the direct commands Jesus and the Apostles said and wrote in the New Testament, or is there more to it?
